The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart
of local communities providing dementia specific services and
advocating for the rights of people affected by dementia by providing
to quality supports and services.

A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland
is person centred, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of
the person with dementia and their carer at its core.

We are recruiting a HELPLINE ADVISER to be based in our NATIONAL
OFFICE, TEMPLE ROAD, BLACKROCK, CO DUBLIN.

This contract is PERMANENT working fixed part-time hours (**APPLY ON
THE WEBSITE** HOURS - PLUS 1 SATURDAY A MONTH (6 HOURS)).

The Alzheimer National Helpline Service provides information and
emotional support to a range of service users including; people
concerned about their cognitive health, people with dementia, their
families and carers, and professionals. The service is confidential,
non-directive and non-judgemental.

The Helpline Adviser will ensure delivery of the National Helpline
Service. He/she will be a proactive point of contact for people who
are concerned about their cognitive health or have a diagnosis of
dementia and for their families at all stages of the journey. The role
will also engage with health and social care professionals. A key part
of this role will be to support, mentor and supervise our volunteer
helpline workers.

To be successful in this role you will have a qualification in health
sciences or health care, experience of face to face and remote support
of people with dementia. You will be an excellent communicator with
strong listening skills who can demonstrate empathy and flexibility.

This role will be remote based initially on a temporary basis.

The Helpline Service is open 6 days a week, Monday to Friday **Apply
